
Policemen, some of them in combat gears, raided the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City early Saturday, August 24, 2024, to search for the wanted Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, but went out empty handed.
Radio reports here and in other cities in Central Mindanao stated that the police personnel, among them members of the elite Special Weapons and Tactics, first fired tear gas projectiles at the compound of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in Buhangin area in Davao City before they barged in to find Quiboloy but failed.
Quiboloy was indicted by a federal jury in the United States District Court for the Central District of California in Santa Ana, California, for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion and sex trafficking of children; sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; conspiracy; and bulk cash smuggling.
The federal court that prosecuted Quiboloy issued on November 10, 2021 a warrant for his arrest.
Reports are circulating in Davao City stating that regional police officials have confirmed that an elderly supporter of Quiboloy died of cardiac arrest as policemen entered the KOJC compound. (JFU, AUG. 24, 2024)
