Five commuters were burned alive when the passenger van carrying them collided head on with a dump truck and caught fire on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Barangay Luhong in Antipas, Cotabato.
In initial reports released two hours after the incident, the Antipas Municipal Police Station and the Cotabato Provincial Police Office separately confirmed the demise of the five passengers, whose exact identities probers are still trying to determine.
The van first rolled thrice after having been rammed by the dump truck, fell into the deep side of the highway and burst into flames.
The dump truck also turned turtle and landed on its side due to the impact of the collision. (March 25, 2024, John Unson)
