The outdoor congregational Eid’l Fit’r gatherings of Muslims in Mindanao on Wednesday morning, April 10, 2024, were peaceful, police and military officials said.The Eid’l Fi’tr worship rites marked the end of the month-long observance by Muslims of the Ramadhan, where they abstain from food and drinks at daytime for one lunar cycle, or about 28 days, as form of sacrifice and religious obligation.Brig. Gen. Prexy D. Tanggawohn, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, announced on Wednesday, after the Eid’l Fit’r religious gatherings, that no untoward incident marred any of the simultaneous religious events in all six provinces and three cities under his jurisdiction.The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao covers Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi and the cities of Lamitan, Marawi and Cotabato.
