COTABATO CITY (July 23, 2026) — Malaking bilang ng mga child learners sa isang Madrasah at mga senior citizens sa Barangay Pura sa Datu Blah Sinsuat sa Maguindanao del Norte ang tumanggap ng school supplies at relief goods mula sa mga municipal at provincial officials sa isang humanitarian activity nitong Martes, July 21.

Ang Datu Blah Sinsuat ay nakatakda ng papangalanang West Upi municipality batay sa isang enabling measure na nakasalang sa 80-member parliament ng Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Isa si Bai Shajida Mastura, chief of staff ng Maguindanao del Norte governor’s office, sa namahala ng naturang public service mission. Isa siya sa mga nagdala ng mga supplies na ipinamahagi sa mga batang mag-aaral at senior citizens sa Barangay Pura.

Nagtulungan ang tanggapan ni Mayor Raida Tomawis Sinsuat at sina Maguindanao del Norte Gov. Tucao Mastura at Vice Gov. Marshall Sinsuat sa naturang outreach mission para sa mga batang mag-aaral sa isang Madrasah, o Islamic school, sa Barangay Pura at mga residente nitong mga senior citizens.

Nagpaabot din ng cash assistance si Mayor Sinsuat sa mga senior citizens na mga benepisyaryo ng naturang outreach activity.

Masaya ang mga magulang ng mga batang mag-aaral sa naturang Madrasah sa pagkakatanggap nila ng school supplies mula sa tatlong local executives na nagtutulungan sa mga peace and development initiatives na naglalayong maging maunlad ang kanilang bayan, kilalang fishing capital ng Maguindanao del Norte at tinataguriang “most peaceful municipality” sa probinsya.

Nagpasalamat din sa kanilang tinanggap na relief supplies ang mga senior citizens na nakabenepisyo sa naturang public service mission nila Mayor Sinsuat, Gov. Mastura at Vice Gov. Sinsuat.

COTABATO CITY (July 23, 2026) — Soldiers seized five military-type assault rifles and three home-made bombs in an anti-terror operation in a lair of Dawlah Islamiya terror group remnants in Barangay Tukanalipao in Mamasapano, Maguindanao de Sur early Tuesday, July 21.

Major Gen. Jose Vladimir Cagara, commander of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, told reporters on Wednesday that the cache was found by soldiers in a shanty in a secluded area in Barangay Tukanalipao with the help of vigilant tipsters, among them traditional Moro community leaders supporting the 6th ID’s anti-terror missions in Maguindanao del Sur.

The joint operation in Barangay Tukanalipao on Tuesday morning by Intelligence operatives from the Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade, under Brig. Gen. Edgar Catu, and combatants from the 34th Infantry Battalion was launched after villagers reported about the stockpiling by a few remaining Dawlah Islamiya terrorists of assault rifles and improvised explosive devices in one of sitios in the area.

Catu and Lt. Col Edgardo Batinay, commanding officer of the 34th IB, had separately told reporters that they are grateful to residents of Barangay Tukanalipao who guided soldiers to the exact location of the hidden firearms and IEDs.

Army bomb experts are now in custody of the three large improvised explosive devices confiscated during the joint anti-terror operation of the 601st Infantry Brigade and the 34th IB.

Local executives and Muslim religious leaders in Tukanalipao have assured Cagara to help identify the terrorists who owned the assault rifles and IEDs for them to be prosecuted for possession of firearms and explosives.
